Syncing The IPod Via Windows Media Player

Posted on 22:38 by Unknown
The application that is used to synchronize your IPod with the computer system in order to transfer music is called ITunes. It works perfectly without any glitches. However, some users do not find the program apt for their computers and rely on other means to synchronize their IPod with the system. The media player from Microsoft is the Windows Media player and it can be used to synchronize your IPod with your system and transfer music with the help of a plug-in. The different steps to sync your IPod with your system via the media player are given below.

Instructions
  • You have to access ITunes after connecting the IPod with the computer. You have to select your IPod and choose the tab titled Settings. You have to uncheck the option Open ITunes When This IPod Is Connected and check mark Manually Manage Music. Now you need to exit iTunes and eject the IPod.
  • The Windows media player has to be opened and the tab titled Rip has to be double clicked. The Format option has to be selected from the menu that appears and you have to select the option that says Mp3. You need to exit from the Windows media player now.
  • The plug-in by the name MGTEK dopisp has to be downloaded and saved onto your computer. Double click and install the plug-in after it has finished downloading.
  • Now you need to access the Windows Media Player and connect your IPod to the system. In the navigation pane of your Windows media player, you will be able to see your IPod.
  • At the top right of the player, an option called Sync will be present and you need to choose it. On the right side, an entirely new window will open up. In order to transfer music files to your IPod, you need to drag and drop music files into the Sync list that is present below your iPod information. In order to transfer songs to your IPod, the Start Sync option has to be made use of.
These are the steps to follow to transfer files to your IPod via the Windows Media Player. If you encounter any difficulty while using the Windows Media Player, you may contact Windows tech support to resolve all your issues. Any errors encountered while downloading the plugin can also be rectified by contacting Windows tech support.
